BEPPE LABIANCA
The Ephorate of Antiquities of Preveza in cooperation with the Municipality of Preveza hosts at the Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis, works of art by the Italian artist Beppe Labianca. The periodical exhibition, started from the island of Corfu, continued in the city of Ioannina and reached the town of Preveza.
The exhibition is titled "Mediterranean, our Sea" and is part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Archaeological Museum of Nicopolis.
These are original works of art, made of thin oxided iron sheets, in natural size and painted. Impart variations of human and mythical forms with intense emotional and symbolic character.
The theme, inspired by the civilizations of Mediterranean area, is developed successively in the museum, which is dedicated to one of the most important battles of history, the naval battle of Actium in 31 BC. The Mediterranean of the Romans, which is known in history as mare nostrum is characterized as a crossroads of peoples and cultures on the banks of which the "eastern" and "western" cultures met.
