The new "Creative Europe 2014-2020" programme for the cultural and audiovisual sector has been launched in January 2014. "Culture 2007-2013” and “MEDIA” programmes which belong to the "fourth generation" subsidized programmes have been integrated into this programme.
The total budget for the entire duration of the programme is 1,462 million €.
The Programme includes three strands: CULTURE sub-programme, the competent authority of which is the EU Department of the Directorate of International Affairs and the European Union of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the sub-programme MEDIA, the competent authority of which is the Greek Film Centre (Ministry of Culture and Sports) and the cross-sectoral strand, which will be in force from 2016 and will act as a security mechanism that will facilitate access to finance for small-medium sized enterprises in the cultural and creative sectors and non-profit organisations. The guarantee mechanism, which is included in the general context of the actions will be assigned by the Commission to the European Investment Fund.
The 28 EU member-states, the candidates countries, the potential candidate countries, the EFTA countries and the European Neighborhood Policy countries can participate in the programme.
Eligible organisations:
Public, private, NGOs and other organisations and companies operating in the creative, audiovisual and cultural sector and have been established for at least two years before the deadline of submission of the proposal.
Coordinating body of the Creative Europe Desk in Greece is the EU Department of the Directorate of International Relations and European Union of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
