​The aim of the Programmatic agreement (contract) between the Ephorate of Antiquities of Preveza and the Regional Unit of Preveza is the promotion of all the necessary archaeological works that contribute to the supplementary reveal, restoration and enhancement of the early byzantine Basilica B and D in Nicopolis.

Basilica B

The project aims to the continuation of the excavating works in Basilica B that had stopped in 2002. Since then protecting shelters have been constructed and mortars' and mosaics' conservations have been done by the Scientific Committee of Nikopolis.

During this project a number of works is being done: removing the annoying germination, excavations in the monument especially in its northeast part where an octagonal space, maybe a baptistery could be distinguished. 

Basilika D

The project aims to the continuation of the excavations in Basilica D that had stopped in 2005. Since then protecting shelters have been constructed and mortars’ and marble decorations’ conservations have been done by the Scientific Committee of Nikopolis. 

During this project a number of works is being done: removing the annoying germination, excavations in the monument especially in its courtyard (atrium) which is planned to be totally excavated. ​
