The Directorate of International Relations and European Union / Department of International Relations of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports and the Cultural Association "Skiathos" co- organize events related to the initiative,  named  "Week of Discovering European Cemeteries", of the Association Significant Cemeteries of Europe (ASCE), which runs the European Cemeteries Route, member of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. The purpose of the events, is to highlight the importance of cemeteries as a fundamental part of the heritage of the humanity
