On 18 May the International Museum’s Day is celebrated all around the world with issues concerning museums and the protection of cultural heritage. For 2018, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has chosen the theme “Museums and inter(networks). New approaches, new audience”.
By choosing this topic, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) seeks to demonstrate that Museums today are a key player in the Internet, while at the same time they are at the epicentre of many different social networks. The continuous expansion of the public, which is a permanent objective of the museums, requires a stronger interconnection of the museums with each other, but also with other institutions and with the public, while new approaches are needed to disseminate the museum experience in social networks (in its digital or in its physical version).
On 18 May the entrance to the Museum is free of charge.
