OLYMPIA from oblivion to the light. Exhibition for the Excavations History
The exhibition devoted to the history of the German excavations in Ancient Olympia from 1875 to today is housed in the refurbished building of the Old Ephorate building, which accommodated the many archaeologists who worked in Olympia.
The purpose of the exhibition is to present the archaeological activities that have taken place in Olympia since the 19th century, when the great Sanctuary emerged from oblivion and the unique
treasures hidden in the ground came to light.
