The examination of the pottery, found in the excavation in Pavlopetri
The pottery shards, which have been found during the research of Pavlopetri (including shards, which were collected during the inital observation of the research and those, which were found during the excavation of two trenches), have been examined by the conservators of the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities.
The examination of the pottery resulted in two intact pithoi, which were complemented, glued and aesthetically restored. Five additional pithoi, which were found partly preserved, were complemented and glued.
The finds, which were collected during the research of Pavlopetri in 2012, were desalinated, mechanically cleaned and complemented. The examination of the pottery shards started during 2012 and has now been completed.
