In the framework of the Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU (first semester of 2014), the Hellenic Ministry of Culture & Sports is organizing the conference «Financing Creativity», co-funded by the European Commission.
The main objective of this Conference is to mark the new philosophy for the cultural and creative sector in Europe. It aims to inform on the growing importance of the creative economy, the promotion of innovation, the role of the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) for economic growth and social cohesion. It also aims to familiarize with the existing tools and expertise that can facilitate startups and access to finance for the CCIs, to highlight the importance of cultural tourism and regional development and the new opportunities that are opening up for employment growth, especially for young people.
Amongst the speakers of the Conference is Ms Androulla Vassiliou, the Commissioner of the EU for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, high level officials from the European Commission, representatives of European Cultural Institutions, members of the Greek and international academic society, experts and professionals of the cultural and creative sector.
There is going to be simultaneous translation in English, French and Greek.
