Klokotos Trikala
Based on few building remains and the local tradition, according to which Klokotos was also known with the name “Agia Sophia”, we moved on with the research that revealed foundations and walls coming from a big three-aisled basilica with a narthex on the western side. A first chronological approach leads us to the conclusion that the building has successive phases (from the 5th cent. up to the 14th cent.), a fact that can be confirmed only by the completion of the excavation and the scientific analysis and comparison of its findings that came to light.
