Reconstruction of church of St.Dimitrius in Taxiarchis of Grevena
The Church of St.Dimitrios, in Taxiarchis of Grevena was built in the 17th century. Today it is found in cemetery of the village. It's a small aisleless timber-roofed basilica. A narthex was added later. The sanctuary ends in a semi-circular apse. The internal is covered with wall-paintings wgich are dated in the 17th century. In the church many illegal interventions took place.

The reconstruction works began in 2009 up to the end of the year.in order to bring the monument back to its previous condition. The restoration is held under the supervision of the 17th EBA.
During the restoration, the roof and ambulatory on the south side were replaced. The masonry of the church was cleaned and reinforced with new mortars. The mosaic floor was replaced with a new one of wood. Two new doors of wood were also replaced. On the north and west side of the monument a drainage pipe was put in order to keep the rainwater out of it. The whole area round the church was cleaned and reformed.
