Originating from the island of Mykonos, but he was born in Piraeus in 1958, where he went to school, as well as in Hermoupolis in the island of Syros. He attended lessons in the graphic arts at the Technical EducationaI Institute of Athens, 1976-77 and graduated from the School of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1984. Post-graduate studies in Art Theory and History from the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1999 – 2004). During the 80’s he worked as a publishing editor, since 1987 as a journalist. He has collaborated with many magazines and newspapers, as an editor, literary and art critic, publishing counselor, editor in chief and publisher. He has been working in «Kathimerini» -one of the most prominent Greek newspapers- since 1992. In 1999 he took over the cultural section of Kathimerini’s Sunday edition as editor-in-chief since December 2003. His has published essays and short stories and has curated several exhibitions. He received from the Botsis’ Foundation the mention of the Hellenic Parliament as Publicist of the year (2009). He is a member of the Journalists’ Union of Athens Daily Newspapers and AICA – Hellas (International Association of Art Critics): from 2000-2005 as its General Secretary and from 2007 to 2009 as a member of the Administrative Board. He is living in Athens with his wife and their two sons.
