Conservation of murals in the Church of St. Athanasios in Tsotyli of Kozani
The church of Saint Athanasios in Tsotyli is a three-aisle timber- roofed basilica. It was built in 1858. The entrance to the west side leads to the narthex, while the south is decorated with stone reliefs. Fragments of wall paintings are saved in the sanctuary.
After the restoration of the monument was finished, the frescoes of the central apse and of the apse of prothesis in the sanctuary were conserved. They were cleaned from the soot and dust, their surface became solid and they regain their aesthetic view.
