The Hellenic Ministry of Culture organizes its twenty fourth annual August full moon event, a program coordinated by the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage, offering free admission to selected Archaeological and Historical sites, monuments, and museums, on the night of the full moon, August 19th, according to the published schedule.
On August 19th, one hundred Archaeological and Historical sites, monuments and museums across the country, will welcome the public under the light of the full moon, admission free, while events will be held in fifty of them. This year, additional dates have been included to the program from August 9th to 25th.
The program includes concerts, theater performances, stargazing and guided tours, organized by the services of the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage and the services of the General Directorate of Restoration, Museums and Technical Works, many of which will be administered in collaboration with the local government, cultural and landscape beautification associations.
Events will also be organized by the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki and the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, Crete.
